Today, we think about those living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) — a condition that affects millions but is often misunderstood.
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It doesn’t only affect veterans or first responders — it can impact anyone, including survivors of abuse, accidents, disasters, or violence. PTSD affects how a person thinks, feels, and functions. Common symptoms include:
- Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares
- Avoidance of reminders of the trauma
- Negative changes in mood or thinking (e.g., guilt, numbness, detachment)
- Hyperarousal (e.g., being easily startled, irritability, difficulty sleeping)
What to remember:
– PTSD is not a sign of weakness.
– Healing is possible with the right support and treatment.
– Compassion and understanding make a difference.
About 3.9% of people are estimated to have PTSD at any given time. Anyone can develop it — regardless of age, gender, or background.
There are many different clinical trials for PTSD patients. GCT is a CRO with extensive experience in CNS Clinical trials. If you are interested in more details, please, contact us at bd@gctrials.com .
