GCT local office in Mumbai operating under the name “GCT Pharma Research (India) Pvt Ltd” (GCT-India for short) will assist global pharmaceutical companies in performing clinical trials in India. GCT-India will also support the local biopharma community willing to conduct clinical research within CEE countries and Russia, thus helping them to market their products in that attractive region.
GCT has appointed Dr. Umakanta Sahoo as Managing Director to set up the Indian entity and take charge of the local operations. Dr Sahoo, an MBA and PhD, brings extensive experience from the pharmaceutical and CRO industries in Asia Pacific. He has worked in global CROs handling projects for international pharmaceutical companies in a wide variety of therapeutic areas and has successfully run CRO business in India, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia and other SE Asian countries. His last assignment was in Singapore managing trials in SE Asian regions.
