The time has come to kick off our 25th anniversary series! In this series, we’ll introduce you to some of the people who make GCT who we are—so you can get to know us better and discover our diversity, company culture, and spirit. Let’s start with Tony Tocci:

When did you join GCT and how long have you been with the company?

I joined GCT in May, 2025 where I currently hold the position of Executive Director, Project Management.  I’ve been with the company for over 7-months and excited to be a part of the 25th anniversary.

Which office are you based in?

I am remote based in Wilmington, NC and report to Eugene Selivra, Chief Executive Officer who is out of the Princeton, NJ office.

Could you tell us more about your role and your professional background?  I

I am a results-driven clinical research executive with over 25 years of experience leading global clinical trial programs across biotech, pharma, and healthcare sectors. My specialization areas include CNS/Neurology, Cardiovascular, Infectious Disease, and Women’s Health, I have successfully managed high-dollar portfolios while securing repeat business through client-centered delivery and operational excellence. In my current role as Executive Director, Project Management, I’m known for my strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to transform complex project challenges into high-performing solutions. I strive for quality and client satisfaction across the clinical development lifecycle.

What aspects of GCT’s corporate culture are most important to you?

What’s most important to me coincides with GCT’s mission to provide a tailored approach for every project and that’s the team’s ability to solve problems creatively, avoiding the ‘cookie-cutter’ processes and having the flexibility to design what each sponsor or study needs. This is a culture of tailored, thoughtful work that’s just not a ‘one size fits all’ type of company.

When did you realize that joining GCT was the right decision for you?

I realized GCT was the right fit when I understood how their mission to deliver high-quality clinical data efficiently while leveraging global and regional strengths aligned with what motivates me professionally. And being a part of meaningful, impactful work day-after-day has solidified my decision to join GCT.

How does GCT differ from other places you’ve worked?

At GCT, it’s a culture that values efficiency, not bureaucracy. Where some organizations are slowed by multiple layers of approval or complex SOPs, GCT tends to move faster, make decisions more quickly, and adapt processes to meet client needs. To me, this creates a more agile, responsive environment and this is what I consider to be a main differentiator of GCT.

What motivates you to come to work each day?

For me, this is very easy. I’m motivated by knowing the work I do on a daily basis directly supports studies that can improve people’s lives and contributes meaningfully to clinical research. The progress and momentum that is recognized in my projects gives me a sense of accomplishment and energizes me greatly.

What do you believe GCT’s mission is?

It’s not what I believe, it’s clearly documented. “To provide a tailored approach for every project, whether managing the entire study or assisting with a standalone service as a functional service provider. GCT’s priority is to provide our clients with the highest quality of clinical data in the shortest period of time while making the most of the opportunities offered by the regions we cover.”

How would you describe GCT ten years from now?

Aligning with how successful CROs evolve, in ten years from now, I would anticipate GCT being a CRO that embraces technology and smarter operations by becoming more digital, more automated and more integrated. I foresee GCT using technology strategically, not necessarily replacing expertise but elevating it.

What does GCT’s 25th anniversary mean to you personally?

This gives me a sense of pride to be a part of something so established and impactful. It’s a reminder that I’m contributing to a company with a long history of delivering meaningful clinical research that has earned the trust and credibility on a global scale.

What do you think has enabled GCT to remain successful for 25 years?

Outside of the Sr. Leadership team having a lot to do with this, GCT’s 25-year success can be attributed to its commitment to high-quality clinical data, a tailored approach to every project, and operational excellence. Strong relationships with sponsors, investigators and regulators coupled with agility, innovation and a mission-driven culture have enabled GCT to consistently deliver value and remain a trusted partner in clinical research.

If you could describe GCT’s journey over the past 25 years in one word, what would it be — and why?

I describe GCT in one word…Resilience! Because no matter the challenges GCT faces, it adapts, evolves and gets stronger. GCT doesn’t crumble under pressure, GCT transforms those challenges into growth opportunities. Resilience isn’t just a quality here; it’s part of the company’s DNA.
