Time is flying — another month is here, and we’re already at the fifth chapter of our Anniversary series. For this month’s first story, we return to Romania, where we spoke with Roxana, the Managing Director of our Romanian office.
When did you join GCT and how long have you been with the company?
I joined GCT in 2015, and last year I proudly celebrated my tenth anniversary with the company. Reaching this milestone has been incredibly meaningful to me, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring organization, centered around people. It has been a rewarding journey filled with growth, collaboration, lessons. and lasting relationships, and I look forward to continuing this wonderful journey with GCT.
Could you tell us more about your role and your professional background?
My role combines the management of the Romanian and Moldavian offices with responsibilities in legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and business development. As Legal Affairs Director, I am involved in a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, which has provided valuable opportunities to contribute to GCT’s growth and international development. Together with an exceptional international team, we have successfully built and developed state-of-the-art departments focused on regulatory affairs, data protection, and negotiation, helping to strengthen GCT’s operations and support its long-term vision.
What’s changed at the company since you’ve joined?
The way we approach and manage projects. Over the years, we have grown to operate on a much larger scale while still maintaining the same level of attention and dedication to smaller, local, and even micro-level projects. As GCT continues to attract more major international players, it has been remarkable to see how our teams adapt seamlessly to the unique needs of each project. There is a strong sense of flexibility, collaboration, and professionalism that allows us to deliver specific solutions and truly act as an extension of our clients’ vision.
Can you share a particularly memorable moment from your time at GCT?
Well, I love how our team celebrates birthday. I truly enjoy the tradition we have created together: the person celebrating chooses the coffee house and the exhibition we visit, which always brings a unique mix of eclectic tastes and experiences. These moments are special because they reflect the creativity, diversity, and strong team spirit that make working at GCT so rewarding.
What motivates you to come to work each day?
My team. Without a doubt, my team is what motivates me to come to work every day. Whether they are based in Romania, anywhere in Europe, the United States, or India, the people I work with make every challenge and every success truly meaningful. I value being surrounded by amazing, like-minded professionals who support and inspire one another across borders and cultures.
For me, collaboration and trust are essential, and I feel fortunate to share my professional journey with such talented and passionate colleagues. Celebrating our achievements together, no matter where we are in the world, is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.
What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?
I love traveling and discovering different cultures and civilizations. I also have a deep passion for books (both reading and writing them) so during my travels, I often spend time exploring bookstores and libraries. Immersing myself in the written word has always been deeply meaningful to me, as literature continues to have a profound impact on both my personal and professional life.
What do you think has enabled GCT to remain successful for 25 years?
It’s the people. I truly believe that the exceptional quality of the people within GCT is one of the key reasons behind the company’s success. Their dedication, professionalism, and strong sense of connection are evident every single day, and they create an environment that is both inspiring and motivating to be part of.
What’s the biggest lesson your time at GCT has taught you about work — or about yourself?
My time at GCT has taught me the true value of teamwork and resilience. Success is never achieved alone. We celebrate our accomplishments together, as one team, and we face challenges together as well. What I value most is that mistakes are not seen as failures, but as opportunities to learn, improve, and come back stronger. This mindset has shaped not only the way I work, but also the way I approach growth and collaboration every day.
