GCT staff interview

When did you join GCT and how long have you been with the company?

I joined the company in July 2024. It may not be a long time yet, but it has already been a very meaningful period for me.

Which office are you based in?

I am based in the Tbilisi office.

Could you tell us more about your role and your professional background?

I am a lawyer and currently work as a regulatory affairs specialist in clinical trials, I have been involved in clinical research for more than five years, and over time I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of studies, including early phase trials, primarily supporting regulatory processes and ensuring compliance with the applicable requirements.

Alongside my professional work, I am also a PhD candidate. My research focuses on medical law, and my practical experience in clinical trials has strongly influenced this academic path. I hope it will eventually contribute to a broader academic discussion in this area.

What aspects of GCT’s corporate culture are most important to you?

For me, the most important aspect is the human side of the culture – how people interact with each other on a daily basis. A respectful, supportive and open environment makes big difference, not only professionally but also personally. It creates a space where people can feel comfortable, stay motivated and grow together.

Additionally, work-life balance is something that I personally value a lot. It’s not always easy to find, and I feel that here it is genuinely respected.

I also appreciate the support for learning and development – this company and its leadership create an environment where people feel encouraged to grow, both professionally and personally.

What have you learned during your time at GCT?

I think one of the main things I have learned is how important it is to stay open and adaptable. Even with prior experience, every environment has its own dynamics, and being able to learn from colleagues and new situations has been very valuable.

I also appreciate that the company gives the opportunity to look beyond the local level, including gaining insight into how EU regulatory submissions and contract drafting are handled.

In your view, how does GCT make a meaningful impact on people’s lives? What contribution do you find most significant?

In my view, the company makes a meaningful impact by contributing to the quality and reliability of clinical trials. As a CRO, the work we do supports pharmaceutical companies in planning and conducting studies in a careful and structured way. What I find most significant is that this support directly influences how well clinical trials are carried out at the site level – through proper monitoring, timely guidance, and ensuring that all regulatory and ethical requirements are met. GCT’s contribution plays an important role in advancing medicine, and ultimately, improving access to better healthcare.

What motivates you to come to work each day?

What motivates me the most is the opportunity to learn something new every day. I genuinely enjoy working as a regulatory affairs specialist in clinical trials, because each submission and interaction with regulatory authorities is a constantly evolving process. Every application requires careful attention to detail, but also a certain level of thoughtfulness in how everything is presented and aligned with the requirements. In that sense, I see it not as a technical task, but also as a kind of structured and creative process, which keeps the work engaging for me.

What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with friends and family and simply taking time to rest and recharge. I think having that balance is very important. I also really enjoy going to the theater. It’s something that helps me disconnect from daily routines and experience something different.

What does GCT’s 25th anniversary mean to you personally?

For me, it represents the result of many years of dedicated work and collaboration. It’s a reminder that strong organizations are built over time, through consistency and commitment and it reflects the effort and dedication of many people over the years who have contributed to building something sustainable and meaningful. Even though I have been part of the company for a relatively short time, it’s very valuable to be part of an organization with such a strong foundation and history.

What do you think has enabled GCT to remain successful for 25 years?

In my view long-term success comes from building trust over time, and one of the key factors here is the company’s dedication and honesty in its relationship with clients. It’s very important to be realistic and transparent, and I feel that this is something the company consistently values.

I also believe that a company’s true strength lies in its people – a dedicated team in which everyone clearly understands their role and works collaboratively, from leadership to every team member. This shared commitment fosters a dependable environment that both clients and employees can trust.
