On Jan 16, 2018 A new method of reducing pain-associated behaviors with RNA-based medicine. Dr. Zachary Campbell of The University of Texas at Dallas along with Dr. Ted Price, and Dr. Michael Burton have created a painkiller class that prevents the onset of pain.The “RNA decoy” was injected into injury sites of experimental mice. The ability to reduce behavioral response to pain was evident. Unlike opioid pain drugs, RNA- based medicine leap right over the addiction-starting part of the brain. Pain and inflammation brought about by a tissue injury can be prevented by this new breakthrough discovery.
